本专业培养思想政治坚定、德技并修、德智体美劳全面发展，适应中国特色社会主义事业现代化和科学技术发展的需要，具有良好的思想品德、职业道德修养、团队协作精神和创新创业精神的素质，掌握现代焊接技术、切割工艺和自动化、智能化焊接技术领域必备的基础理论等知识和从事智能焊接技术操作、焊接工艺编制与实施与焊接质量检验等技术技能，面向从事智能焊、割操作人员、焊接工艺设计与编制人员、焊接质量检验、焊接生产技术管理及焊接设备售后服务职业岗位工作的焊接技术领域的复合型技术技能人才。

毕业生主要从事船舶制造、修造企业单位焊、割操作人员、焊接工艺设计与编制人员、焊接夹具设计人员、焊接质量检测人员、以及焊接生产技术管理人员、焊接设备营销及售后服务人员等工作。
